Whoa BABIES

Lets start off with Lebanon!
It was sooo much fun!!! It was the most fun I have had at a show since :) I loved hanging out with Julie and Chrissy for a day then sneaking bunnies into the hotel room for the night with Julie and hanging out with Julie AGAIN and April. My perfect weekend right there! Speaking of Perfect Julie, April and I all bought a chestnut doe that is to DIE for I nicknamed her perfect since well she is perfect. Her real name is ANR's Idina (Uh-Deen-A) She's so nice and I can't wait to show her and have babies. She's currently living with Julie right now. She is also currently bred to Spring Lake's Fred who is AMAZING so we are extremely excited to have babies from both of them. Let's see I also came home with my first official Netherland Dwarf Doe. Her name is Mallorie and boy is she cute! She's 6 so she will probably only have one more litter but she's gorgeous and I love her! :) She's a pretty Chinchilla color which is one of my secretively favorite colors. April got 3 new bunnies and Julie got 4! Normally it's me getting the most then April and then Julie but Julie got the most this time! haha :)
As far as placings the first day I did bad lol, I got dead last with Kennelly is Open Solid Senior Bucks but that's okay I still love my Ken <3 He is awesome I think he just is taking his time pulling out the big wins! haha :) Then Chrisily got DQ for lack of color :( poo but she did get AWESOME comments so that's good. I am on the hunt for a buck to breed her with lol. I only brought 2 kids since I knew I would be on the hunt for some new bunnies there wasn't any there that really said WOW to me except for Perfect of course! haha :)
Jedan had 5 sable point babies!!! I am soo excited. I have been trying to get her rebred for the longest time and then the day before she had her babies I was cutting her nails and on a whim I felt her stomach and sure enough we had babies!! It's such a blessing I cut there nails because other wise I don't think the 4 living ones would be here today! She had 5 but 1 baby died. It clung onto her from feeding I am assuming and got too cold :(
Mirie never had babies :( I was so sure she was prego but I guess I was wrong which is seemingly happening quite often lately lol. She was nesting and stuff so I just was like oh good she's pregnant no point in palpating her well I tried but I am not very good at it but anyways I kind of just let it go and assumed she was. Turns out she wasn't. So I bred her with her son Laszlo he's a broken blue with some hopes of solid blues so I could breed one with Chrisily maybe.. But with my luck I will get all charlies lol
Noel pulled fur like 12 days in advance so I was super uber excited for her babies turns out she didn't have any ugh! So I am trying her again with Repeat in hopes of some babies this time! She hasn't been very willing to so I am going to to keep trying her and hopefully soon get some babies out of Noel!
Panda had 4 babies this morning! YAY! I am so excited :) It looks like 1 broken and 1 Solid then the other 2 I think are peanuts. Although I have never had peanuts they are significantly smaller so we will see if they are or not. I realllly hope they aren't because I am super excited for this pairing but who knows whatever is meant to be will happen.
Okay I think that's all the updating for now lol. The State College show is tomorrow so there will hopefully be another post shortly following!

Only 40 more hours!!

I am really excited for Lebanon!!! It's going to crazy fun at least I an anticipate it to be! I get to spend all day with Chrissy from Huggable Hollands, April from Razzle Dazzle Bunnies and Julie from Oak Ridge Rabbitry!! I am sure I will learn a ton and can't wait how my bunnies do! I am only taking Elliot, Chrisily and Kennelly so we will see how they do. I decided to show in Open just because no real reason lol. I am hoping to find a couple new surprises there so we will see how things go! I have lots to do still!

Sable Point Breeding

Well where to start I guess I will introduce Panda our newest addition. So I was suppose to be downsizing which seems to be an impossible task her but that's okay one day I will get down to numbers I am happy with. I don't have trouble with deciding who should go it's more so of selling them and NOT bringing anymore new rabbits in. I really want to try hard to start keeping my own names so hopefully by this time next year at least half of my rabbits will just have Wagner's Rabbitry name on them!

Anyways, Panda is a broken sable point doe who is the sweetest thing ever! I love her sooo much, you can do virtually anything too her and she loves to just be held and have lots of attention. You think between her and Jedan my solid sable point doe I would be able to have sable point babies right?
Wrong.
I think Jedan and Panda are both devising a plan on not letting me breed sable points because first of all neither of them are willing to be bred. Jedan had a litter of 4 about a month ago now and they didn't make it unfortunately :( Panda is proven and had her last litter about 4 months ago now so there should be no problem in breeding right?
They both just pancake it would when I put them in with Kennelly. I think it's starting to hurt Kennelly's feelings! haha :) Kennelly is awesome and I want to have babies from him so bad!! So hopefully by christmas we will super adorable solid and broken sable point babies!!
I will keep you updated on how it goes!!

Only 2 weeks until Lebanon!!! I am sooooo excited!! I will be rooming with Julie from Oak Ridge rabbitry and it will be a very fun time!

Oh my overdue post!

Well this post is way over due sorry if anyone is still reading this! haha
Anyways so lets start with baby news!
The Lionhead babies are super cute and growing lots! They are really friendly and are little puff balls right now!
Jedan's babies sadly all passed away :( She was either not producing enough milk or not letting them nurse for long enough :( I am going to try to breed her again with Kennelly and hope for better results next time!
I palpated Noel and she has at least 2 babies in there hopefully more!! I am super excited for this litter :) I think they will be a nice cross :)
I think that's it for baby news right now!
Next on to show news!
For Grange Kennelly got 3rd out of 3 :( The judge said he had a nice wide head excellent crown and placement and short shoulders, but lacks in depth and overall width.
Laurel and her babies got 3rd out of 10 he didn't really give any comments on them.
For Mill Hall Kennelly placed 7th out of 10 so he did better! the judge said he has a good head and ears firm body good bone but was too close to be broken sable point? not sure what that means but all well!He also said he lacked flesh in the rear and was a little undercut
Nadia got 3rd out of 3 he said her head shape was good but folded ears and a little slipped and was just fair overall
Laszlo got BOV!! Yay!! He was in broken junior buck, I am so proud of him :) He said he had a nice head, good bone, nice crown/ ear and nice solid buck

I had a lot of fun at the show and can't wait for the next one! I need about a week off though to catch up on sleep haha!

New cages :D

Yay!! I am getting 5 more cages!! wahoo!! 3 30x30 and 2 24x30. I am so excited! I am selling my 24x36 cages so technically I will be only getting 2 more holes but those 2 will be replacing my mini lops old cages so i will have a whole shelf to work on and stuff :) I am excited. Now if only I can sell my ones I have for sale!

Downsizing

So I got a job well hopefully I have put in a couple applications so I think that there is a good chance I will be getting the job. However, with working, going to school, coaching soccer, raising a seeing eye puppy, I won't have as much time as I would like to have for the rabbits. So now I have to downsize in order to have even time for everybunny. So far I have Mountainside Cave's Cyclone and Mountainside Cave's Nadia for sale, I haven't decided who else should go yet but it is going to be difficult to decide who should go. I am hoping to get my numbers down to 18 or so ideally 15 but that probably won't happen. I am also going to list Haagen's Brody as a pet only. The Netherlands also may become available as well.

WAHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

JEDAN HAD 4 SABLE POINT BABIES OH.MY.GOSH. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!
Jedan kindled early this morning, 4 super adorable over the top sweet sable point babies! Well I am 90% sure they are sable point so hopefully they are! I can't wait to see these guys develop! They are gonna be amazing! Well I hope they are. Jedan is a little on the bigger side and Kennelly is a little on the smaller side. Kennelly has short shoulders and a nice h/e/c (head, ear and crown). Jedan has an awesome body but lacks in sable point color so hopefully they have Kennelly's coloring. I have high hopes for these guys and they are only a couple hours old! Oh if they only knew what they were getting themselves into!

Hmmmm

Hmmmm
Not much has been going on here, nothing new same old same old
Addie's babies have opened their eyes and are incredibly cute Looks like 2 orange, 2 fawn and 1 tort!
Allison's babies are just starting to opening their eyes, they are so cute. Especially, the sable point.
Hmm what else, I still have all of Laurel's babies they are super cute. There are 3 orange, a broken tort and a tort. I am working on posing with them and they are very smart just like their mom :) I need to get pictures of them although that's much easier said than done. It seems like when I get my camera after like 2 rabbits then the battery dies or they pee on the landscaping or they run away nothing is as easy as pose and click. My bunnies love to cause trouble!

Centre County 4-H Grange Fair

Yay!! Our county fair is coming up here at the end of August. August 27th- September 3rd to be exact. I can't wait it's going to be so much fun! Each year I take rabbits we are only allowed to take 2 rabbits. This year I will be taking Kennelly and Laurel. I will also be taking Laurel and her babies for a doe and litter. I am super excited to see how everyone will do. I am confident that Kennelly will do well, I hope so at least! Last year I won Best Buck in Show with Sirius Black my sister's mini lop that is homebred yay! Then in 2007 we won Best Buck in Show with Oliver my broken chocolate mini lop buck who is now retired. I think Laurel and her litter will do okay I am not sure how well because her babies will be 10 weeks old so they will just be entering the uglies. But all well they are still super cute! The rabbit show is August 27th bright and early 8 am so that means I will be getting up at like 6:20ish to make sure I have everything I need. We take the rabbits down Thursday the 26th and then they stay until next Thursday the 3rd I think. We are there everyday all day and check on them frequently :)

Co-Op!

Hmm where to start! Well Allison my lionhead doe had 3 little babies! They are so cute!! 1 sable point, 1 himi and 1 black! I am so proud of her! Last time she had NINE babies so three is a good number! Addie's babies are doing awesome!! They are soo cute!! All 5 of them are orange :) I didn't put them on the website because I am hoping that they will sell at fair also but we will see!

Any ways the point of this post is to announce April Butler's and I's Netherland Dwarf Co-Op! yay!! We both are extremely limited on cage space more so me than her but anyways we were talking and decided it would be fun to work together and see what we can come up with! I am really excited to see how our Netherland Dwarf's turn out! I think they should be really nice!! We haven't worked the details out but we are both very laid back so I figure there won't be any problems haha :) More to come in the near future I just wanted to share my excitement!

Future Litters!

Yay! So I finally figured out my future breeding plans! Yay!! I think that they all will produce brood babies and maybe a couple show ones in there too! I am beyond excited for Jedan x Kennelly litter! I think they will have a couple show-stoppers in there I Can't wait!! She is due in like 2 weeks. I palpated her and she is positive!! Wahooo!!!
Anyways it took me a while to figure out my system so I am not overrun with babies but can have babies frequently! So Here are my thoughts when a doe is due we will take Jedan for example! She is due on the 13th and next on the list to have babies is Noel so Noel will get bred on the 13th then she will hopefully have babies on the 13th of September when Jedan's babies will be 4 weeks old then whoever is next on the list I can't remember I think it's London I will breed the next bunny on the list and when they are due in theory I will have babies that are 8 weeks old 4 weeks old and newborn
I feel like this is manageable because then I will have babies are a lot but I won't be overrun with 5 litters at a time I will be spreading out the litters. Also the does will only have one maybe 2 litters a year which I think will be nice for them! I am hoping this all works out in theory it should and if someone weren't to take then I would just rebreed them on the day they were suppose to be due so we will see how it all works out!
Also there is another breeder selling out and they have cages for sale in fact they have 6 holes cages they aren't ready yet but I am definitely getting one I am hoping I can get 2 but currently I am $75 short nuts. I spent $120 the other day on a months supply of rabbit food and 3 more fans and a couple other little odds and ends so I am wishing I had that money right now!
I think I can come up with $75 in a week or two right?

WEEEEE!!!

Yay!! Addie had babies!! Addie had 5 babies sired by Frankie before he left .>In more good baby news I put a nestbox in for Allison who started building her nest!! she is due on Saturday! I can't wait!! It's sooo nice to have babies again! I love Laurel's litter too but it's nice to have cute little babies!! :) Allison has been a great mom before and this will be her last litter for a long while! She has had 3 litters this year so no more! Especially considering I have no Lionhead buck haha!
In more GOOD baby news I palpated Jedan today and she is expecting!! I felt at least 2 babies which means she probably has 4 or 5 in there just because I am so bad at palpating I can only tell if there are babies I am not good at counting them haha. I hope everything goes well with her little I am soooooooo excited for it!! I have been trying to downsize a little but that's not going very well but that's okay, once I get all my cages then I will be done and have to work with the numbers I have!

Humph....

Well I just got back from the beach wooo... I got burnt so I am a little crispy and that leaves to slower animal care but that's okay more time I spend with them because I don't want to move haha! There hasn't been much going on since well I wasn't here! Laurel's babies are getting so big!! I can't believe it when I left they were teeny and now they all look like real Holland Lops! I am super excited for the end of August because we have our 4-H/ County fair which is where Laurel's babies will be going to be sold and shown! I am going to be taking Kennelly and Laurel and her babies to show. I am super excited and hope they do well! You can only take 2 so with all my 'show' bunnies I had a hard time choosing! But I decided and it was really between Kennelly, Landon or Elliot. I am hoping that I made the right decision! I can't wait and it will be super fun! In 2007 I won best buck with my Mini Lop Oliver (who still lives here) and in 2009 I won best buck with my homegrown bunny Sirius (who still lives here) . It's really cool to win and I can't wait to win at a real show and start getting legs and hopefully one day granding a home grown! That's a long way away though... Okay enough blabbing!

Goals....

Well I was talking to my friend April from Razzle Dazzle Bunnies (www.razzledazzlebunnies.weebly.com)
We were saying our goals and I really want to stick to my goals for once! haha normally I say I want to try and end up giving up and stuff but this time I really want to try! So here are my goals to accomplish by the end of Show season!
1. Get a BOB with one rabbit
2. Get a BOB with a homegrown rabbit
3. Get a 8 hole stacked cage
4. Get a 4 hole 24x30 stacked cage
5. Get 2 more 24x30 cages
6. Attend at least 5 shows
7. Try to keep more of my own rabbits than buying

That's all for now but maybe more goals coming later hopefully... It always feels good when you accomplish goals!

Netherlands!!

I am super excited! I got a pair of Netherlands again!! :) :) I had Netherlands back when I was littler and have missed them and they made their way back into the rabbitry! I have London a Sable Marten Junior Doe :) She is super friendly after she has eaten :) They are just settling in but I am super excited to get more :) We will have about 8 - 12 holes dedicated to them. Next is Bradford a Himi Senior Buck! He is super cute and is molting pretty badly right now but that's okay he has really nice type. Both London and Bradford are pretty nicely typed.
I need to update the blog more often but I just keep forgetting! The days go by wayyy to fast :P. Anyways, I got a new 8 hole stacking cage!!! I am super duper excited and it's in really good shape. I got it from another breeder and they took good care of it. Best part is... it's put together already!! haha I am very bad at putting cages together, I also got 2 new stackers that I had to put together it was just a stacked 24x30 2 cages with castors but man it was hard! I didn't realize that the castor needed to be level (blonde moment!) but they weren't so I had to take out 'U' Nails out which are nails shaped like a U and I pounded them in hard! so it took me about 45 minutes to actually get them out! Ugh such a pain! But that's okay they look really really nice!!
My ideal plan for my rabbitry is this
(2) 8- Hole Stacked Units with Plastic Pans
(2) 4- Hole 24x30 Stacked Units with Plastic Pans
Then that will be 24 cages so 8 for Hollands, 8 for ND and 8 for breeding does and litters, then I will have 3 24x46 cages for Sophia my mini lop doe, Truffles, my mini Lop Doe and Lily my other mini lop doe, then I will have 2 18x30 cages for growing out juniors and a 24x24 cage. Then I have another 24x24 cage for my mini lop buck that I might move into a 24x36 cage if I get enough money one day I will! Then I have Landon's HUGE cage of 30x36 that he loves although he doesn't spend much time in it! He comes to his name now!! I am so proud of him he lives to binky too :)

Not Much Going On!

Well like the title says there isn't really much new here at WBB, no new babies no new bunnies no new anything! It's crazy! Although Laurel's litter is crazy cute!! I think it's 3 bucks and 2 does YAY! Everyone had been very buck heavy lately so I was afraid I was going to be in that but I wasn't so it's about 50/50
I bred Addie and Frankie before Frankie left I am excited to hopefully get some oranges soon! I am hoping that these Lionheads sell better than the ones before! That's for sure! I think they will sales seem to be really picking up no more bunnies for sale and I even sold some that I thought I wanted to hang on for a little bit but then changed my mind since people were asking about them so I figure now rather than later! I hope it doesn't bite me in the butt! haha :) My good friend April from Razzle Dazzle Bunnies (www.razzledazzlebunnies.weebly.com) has a number of rabbits for sale so check her out!!

I'm Back! Haha

Sorry I decided to keep my blog on my new website but then it didn't put them in the order that I wanted them so I am just going to stick with Blogspot!
I was doing my daily playing with bunnies and spend extra time with the babies and they started opening their eyes and they are CRAZY cute! I love them so much! However the broken tort is looking nice haha yes they are only like 13ish days old however his or her's ears are much shorter than everyone else and his or hers head is much larger! I am hoping to maybe hang on to that one for a little bit and see what it looks like. I have our 4-H county fair around the time these babies will be 10 weeks old so I am super excited because before they leave I will be able to actually evaluate them and see how my first 'real' holland litter turned out. I had Dakota's and Kali's litter but they didn't really count because I didn't really know what I was doing like type wise lol. But I am super excited! There is also an orange one with just as big of head as the broken tort but currently I am working on short shoulders and nice crown placement ie: short ears, rounded, not slipped so we will see where that takes me! I took Kennelly up to Julie's to see what she had thought of him she hadn't seen him since he was like 10ish weeks old and she is really impressed with the way he is maturing! I am thinking I am going to take Kennelly or Elliot to the fair I REALLY wanted to take Landon but then I would be afraid of something happening to his ears and everyone making fun of him haha this is tough!! Now I am back to thinking of taking Landon hmmm I wish someone would just let me take all 3 plus Laurel then I wouldn't have this problem! too bad I didn't know any kids who wanted to take bunnies but didn't really want to have them lol Well I should go put frozen water bottles in .. later I will post about the HEAT UGH!!!

Dreading May 22nd, 2010

Well I was super excited to have tons and tons of babies. I guess I didn't really think about what I would do if I didn't sell them. Which might happen. I still have 7 lionheads and 4 mini lops for sale. I can't believe it! Last time I had Lionheads they sold in 2 days of knowing there sexes and it's been about 1 month since I have put the babies on the for sale page. I am hoping that I can sell the babies soon! I am willing to give good discounts if they are going to pet homes! So I am hoping somehow I will sell all the babies. But God has a plan for everyone and He has a plan for the babies! :)

Sydney left today :( :( She was an awesome bunny and I loved her! However, I just don't have the to keep her :( She went to an AWESOME family though!! I am happy that she went to a pet home! :) she is such a nice girl!
Frankie and Charlie are also sold too. Frankie is going to one of my good friends so that makes it easier that I will be able to see him :) He is sooo awesome!! But I want to do more popular colored lionheads so I won't have to deal with having 7 babies left! Charlie is going to a great home! I am not sure when they are leaving exactly yet but sometime soon.

New Additions

We are getting sooo many new bunnies! It's awesome!! I am super excited to get stacked cages in June! It's going to be soo nice!! We are getting Aiden a blue otter buck from Heaven's Ark Rabbitry that I am beyond excited to get him! I can't wait to breed him with Kali! Then I am getting an English Lop named Landon from Purple Thistle!! I can't wait to get him too!!! He is going to be super cute!! I am also on the hunt for a BEW Buck and Doe and then I am going to get a charlie orange or a broken orange from Huggable Hollands I can't decide! I am hoping I will have room for them all!

Cleaning :P

It's been a week since I have posted, my goal was to post something every week so I guess I am doing pretty good so far! Saturdays are bunny barn cleaning yuck! I don't mind cleaning cages but I mind scrubbing the pee off the walls and floors. It's also bunny maintenance day a very thorough brushing for the lion heads and nail clippings of everyone and any who needed tattoos to get tattooed so it is about a 6 hour days but it's well worth it! I love spending time outside and with the bunnies, I try to get as many of them as I can outside to play but they all get held and if they don't get out on Saturday then they will get out on Sunday. I try to get everyone out about 5 times a week so often I am doing my homework out there watching them! I love having babies it's so much fun! I didn't think Dakota took because last time she pulled fur like a week in advance and I was so disappointed but to my surprise I walked in the shed and there is a box full a hair and 8 babies!! 8 seems to be a frequent number in the shed! Sophia had 8 babies Allison had 8 babies and now Dakota had 8 babies! We have 23 babies in the shed right now. Sophia and Allison's are sooo cute! They are starting to hop out of the nest box, I am not looking forward to all the pooping though! But they make up for it because of their cuteness! I decided baby animals are made overly cute because if they were ugly people would be annoyed sooo much faster with them!

Babies!

I can't believed how fast the babies are growing! Sophia's 7 which I haven't decided on names yet are twice as big as Allison's babies! They are all so cute! Allison's babies are starting to open their eyes and they look like little aliens right now! I wish I could be as good as some people on telling whether they are boys or girls! I can't wait to find out! Sophia's babies are so laid back which is just like Sophia! She is a real sweetheart but if you try to pick her up your bound to get bit! Allison's babies are so spazzy! They are really cute though! Sophia's litter is looking pretty good for showing! I am so excited! I might keep one even though I shouldn't! I am watching 2 black ones and a sable point I marked their ears because they are impossible to tell apart! The cages are going to be really crowded when they start coming out of the box! I think I will have to upgrade them to bigger cages! I decided I would breed Kali with Brody because after learning more about showing I think that Brody and Kali would make a nice pair! She is due May 2nd! I can't wait! This will be my first litter of purebred Hollands so I am nervous for peanuts! Dakota is due on the 6th I can't wait! It looks like she has 8 in there! She is HUGE, last litter she had 6 but she 'licked' them too much so I am going to try not to touch them, both Sophia and ALlison are excited when I take the boxes out of their cages! I keep telling them enjoy them while they aren't climbing all over you!
